Alongside the harbour are 3 limekilns - the earliest of which was built in 1789. Today they are a distinctive landmark in the village used by local fishermen to store lobster pots and are Grade II listed buildings. In contrast to the Harbour image the skyline is more inviting here as the dark clouds had began to drift away, the iconic Northumberland coast at its finest.
